Culbertson is a 22-bed critical access hospital in Rushville, Illinois, employing more than 200 staff members and providing inpatient, emergency department care and laboratory services.
Murray Company was chosen as construction manager for multiple projects based on expertise with rural hospitals. On the first project together, Culbertson leadership appreciated that Murray could stretch its budget by recommending durable materials and suggesting functional and simple design options. The pharmacy meets USP800 standards and was delivered two or three times less than other construction managers. During a space needs evaluation as part of facility master planning, the group determined that room was available to renovate existing spaces rather than building an addition. Programming the space differently created a more efficient flow for staff and patients and allowed the hospital to meet the goal of prioritizing oncology services. |
