Jefferson City Medical Group serves over 70,000 patients annually in mid-Missouri from 10 locations across 30 specialties.
Patients were receiving care in a hospital setting, and the physician-owners desired to build a freestanding, state-of-the-art surgery center. With an architect selected, early designs were created and solicitation for a construction manager began. Murray was chosen from the field of six construction manager respondents based on the team's personality, company experience and specialization in healthcare. Murray added value to the project team by offering Smart Choices® options that preserved the original design intent while recommending cost-saving alternatives in areas that would not affect patient care. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, work stopped temporarily, and the team decided to continue the project. This decision enabled the owners to save almost $2 million during a time of labor and materials shortages and be able to open one month early to start generating revenue. |
