Formerly Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, the facility plays a vital role in the community as a critical access hospital serving the medical needs of Pawnee County, Kansas.
In 2010, Larned, Kansas residents faced the prospect of the closure of their community hospital. Murray was invited to be part of the team to help community leaders determine the next steps based on an evaluation of the current facility. The assessment indicated replacement was more economical than renovation, and the site of the existing hospital was the ideal location. The community supported a bond issue, and the new hospital opened in 2013 ahead of schedule and well under budget, and is one of the most progressive hospitals in Kansas. |
